This post has several updates, so I apologize for its length in advance!  I will try not to ramble too much. ;)

Last Market on Saturday

I will be attending the Carroll County Farmer’s Market in Westminster, MD this Saturday (Dec. 9th), and it will be my LAST market for the 2017 season.

I was originally scheduled to appear at the Dec. 16th market as well, but due to another commitment (see bottom of this post), I will not be able to attend on the 16th.

This Saturday, you can find me in my usual space, in the second metal building, near the ATM machine and restrooms. The market runs from 8am – 2pm, and is located at the Agriculture Center next to Shipley Arena.  I will have my remaining Limited Edition 2018 calendars and some new Christmas ornaments for sale!

FYI: I have fewer than 15 calendars left in stock!!  If you were planning to purchase one, please do not wait too long!!  You can order calendars here.   Just ignore the “pre-order” bit of the title ~ the calendars are available now.

Cat Face Ornaments

I have been painting a little series of cat faces, on 4″x4″ canvases. I’ve added little eye-hooks and ribbons to them, so they can be hung on a Christmas tree.  Each miniature cat face painting also comes with a small wooden easel for displaying on a shelf after the holidays.

Cat Faces Mini Acrylic Paintings

The black and grey cat faces (top, left and right) have sold, but I will be finishing at least two more black cat faces.  I may paint another grey cat face, too.  I already have an orange tabby and a grey/brown tabby in progress.  The white cat and the Siamese cat are still available.  These ornaments are priced at $35 each.

If you are unable to make it to the farmer’s market on Saturday, please contact me if you are interested in any ornaments  – I can paint personalized cat face ornaments using your cats’ photos! ;)

Washington County Community Art Show

78Tarot Page of Swords TaraFly

My piece, “Page of Swords”, is currently on display at the Washington County Arts Council, as part of their annual Community Art Show: The Best Local Art of 2017.   The exhibit features juried works by 57 fine artists, and will be on display through January 2nd, 2018 ~ which is my 38th birthday! Haha!

“Page of Swords” was the painting I created for the fourth 78Tarot “Astral” themed deck, which was published this year …and which will be arriving in mailboxes sometime within the next month (if you ordered one, that is!)  Click here to visit 78Tarot’s website to view & order Tarot decks.  I contributed to all four, including the limited edition first deck (which has sold out).  My artwork will also be included in the upcoming Mythical Tarot deck in 2018.  I will reveal more about that in the next update!

“Page of Swords” is available for purchase through the gallery. It is an acrylic painting on stretched canvas, measuring 11″x14″.  It is priced at $500.  Inquires can be made to gallery manager, Chris Brewer.  Phone: (301) 791-3132

The gallery hours are Tuesday – Friday: 11am-5pm, and Saturday: 10am-4pm.  They are closed on Sunday and Monday.  The address is 34 South Potomac Street, Suite 100, in Hagerstown, MD.

Morgan Arts Council Presents: Hanukkah Goblins

The Morgan Arts Council, in Berkeley Springs, WV, will be presenting a radio drama production of “Hanukkah Goblins” (based on the award-winning children’s story, “Hershel and the Hanukkah Goblins”, by Eric A. Kimmel).

Rehearsal for Hanukkah Goblins

Abbie Brown and Lydia Jenkinson (my kid) rehearsing their lines.

My two daughters and I will be performing in this delightful musical holiday comedy, written/adapted by Brice Williams and directed by Margie Griffiths.

The story centers around a tiny European village being plagued by goblins haunting the synagogue, intent on destroying the villagers’ Hanukkah celebrations, and the mysterious traveler who saves the holiday!  My teenage daughter and I are goblins, and my younger daughter is a villager. I am also the pianist for the musical bits ~ and we get to sing in cheesy goblin voices! :)

The play is being performed at the MAC Ice House, located at the corner of Independence & Mercer Streets in Berkeley Springs.

Show dates are as follows:

  • Friday, December 8th: 7:30PM
  • Saturday, December 9th: 7:30pm
  • Sunday, December 10th: 2:00pm
  • Thursday, December 14th: 7:30pm **special ‘pay what you can’ performance**
  • Friday, December 15th: 7:30PM
  • Saturday, December 16th: 2:00pm & 7:30pm

The two performances on December 16th are the reason why I cannot attend the last farmer’s market.  However, it is a worthwhile trade-off from my family’s perspective, because it isn’t often that we get the chance to star in a play together!

If you are local to the area, I do hope you get an opportunity to see this show!  Tickets are $10 for Adults, $8 for MAC Members, and $5 for Students.  Thursday, December 14th, we will be hosting a special “pay what you can” performance in lieu of a dress rehearsal.

Well, that’s all for now!  Thank you for your support this year, and if I don’t get a chance to see you before the end of the year, I hope you have a happy holiday! =^,,^=
