Meet Margot! A sassy, flapper cat inspired by my recent foray into the world of F. Scott Fitzgerald. I can easily picture her seated at the bar, at one of Gatsby’s lavish parties… half-listening to the band, reminiscing and puffing smoke from her elegant cigarette holder.
She has a throaty laugh, come-hither eyes, and a dirty sense of humor.
The original portrait was painted in acrylics onto a 5″x7″ canvas panel, and is STILL AVAILABLE on eBay until Tuesday night, April 8th, at 9:10PM EST. Prints and merchandise featuring Margot will be coming soon! :)
The “5 of Pentacles” is finished for the 78 Tarot project. I am super excited to be part of this crazy talented group of artists, which include a few big names in the fantasy art genre… including Jasmine Becket-Griffith and Larry Elmore!
You can see the entire deck in progress here on the official website.
I’m currently working on another portrait for the Wonderful Wizard of Oz series ~ the long anticipated Wicked Witch of the West!
I have decided to use the traditional description of the Witch, with long tangled hair and an eyepatch, as I believe it makes her look even creepier. Although I’m painting the Witch as a silver tabby, she will definitely have a greenish glow to her face… a reflection from the light radiating from her crystal ball.
This painting is also done with acrylics onto a 5″x7″ panel, and will most likely be listed for sale on eBay. Keep an eye on my Facebook page for the listing announcement.
And last, but not least, I will be appearing in person at The Parkville Bookworm in Baltimore County on April 26th and 27th (the weekend after Easter), to sell my artwork and help raise funds for the Charm City Animal Rescue.
I will have a table set-up with bookmarks, magnets, key-chains, cards, and assorted gifts featuring my art.
I’ve never been to the Bookworm before (its owner, Melissa, contacted me on Facebook), but I’m looking forward to checking out this second hand bookshop.
They host neat events throughout the week, such as Coffee Hour, First Friday wine tasting, children’s writing workshops, Toddler Storytime, and even a Pajama Storytime for kids in the evening. :D
It sounds like a lot of fun, doesn’t it? If you live near Baltimore, the Parkville Bookworm is definitely worth a visit; come out and see me! :)
That’s all, folks!
